Description:

We’re seeking a strategic and collaborative finance leader to join our team as Vice President of Finance Operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with portfolio companies, investment teams, and senior leadership to drive financial excellence and operational efficiency. Based in Lexington, KY, the VP will play a pivotal role in shaping financial processes, supporting key transactions, and fostering strong relationships across our organization.


Portfolio Company Management
  • Oversee financial reporting compliance for 3–5 portfolio companies
  • Review monthly financials, management discussions, and cash flow forecasts
  • Support onboarding of new portfolio companies and CFOs
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial close and reporting processes
Reporting and Analysis
  • Provide financial insights and ad hoc analysis to senior leadership
  • Support internal and external reporting processes
  • Drive system and process improvements for reporting efficiency
  • Lead or contribute to financial planning and analysis projects
Due Diligence and Pre-Transaction
  • Participate in due diligence and integration planning for acquisitions
  • Assist CFOs in preparing for exits and transaction readiness
  • Understand and apply quality of earnings analyses
  • Collaborate with investment teams on financial readiness
Executive Management
  • Interview and support hiring of CFOs for portfolio companies
  • Build trusted relationships with portfolio company leadership
  • Coordinate executive onboarding and assessments
  • Execute strategic projects aligned with organizational goals
Budget and Hoshin
  • Establish and communicate budget timelines and expectations
  • Review annual budgets and provide feedback to deal teams
  • Support strategic planning and alignment of financial goals
  • Monitor compliance with budgeting and performance plans
Board of Directors Activities
  • Prepare financial materials for Board meetings.
  • Ensure alignment of performance data with board standards
  • Attend Board meetings and support related communications
Business Development
  • Maintain relationships with industry contacts and firms
  • Share potential deal opportunities with the Business Development team
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences and events
Administrative Activities
  • Support financial system implementations and reporting transitions
  • Present at internal conferences and assist with communications
  • Track time and expenses related to portfolio company activities
  • Coordinate travel and logistics with administrative support
Execution & Accountability
  • Own financial reporting processes for assigned portfolio companies
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports and expenses
  • Communicate effectively with portfolio stakeholders
  • Drive initiatives that support organizational goal
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, consulting, or transaction advisory services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Accounting, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Proven leadership experience with executive presence
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across teams
  • Familiarity with investment metrics (IRR, MOIC, DPI) and fund accounting is a plus
