The adjunct instructor, is responsible for developing and teaching courses that range from video production, studio lighting, audio capture, editing and post production with motion graphics integration. Additional skills taught include pre-production processes such as scriptwriting, and shotlist creation. The adjunct will possess skills in Adobe production software including Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition and also graphics creation software knowledge including Photoshop and Illustrator.
The adjunct instructor reports to the program coordinator of three media technology programs including Simulation & Game Development, Digital Effects & Animation Technology and Audio and Video Production Technology. The instructor will work with full-time faculty in assessing students skills and understanding of course content and following all course guidelines. The position is subject to all terms and provisions of WPCC's adjunct faculty contract.
Essential Duties Include:
1. Develop, refine and teach course(s) in an appropriate discipline as defined by the Program Coordinator.
2. Participate in annual student and chair/coordinator evaluations.
3. Comply with departmental curriculum, grading standards, attendance policies, textbook choices, assessments and other established processes.
4. Commit to furthering the mission, goals and core values of the College.
5. Attend classes regularly; return graded work, college reports, credentials and other requested documentation in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate's Degree in Film and Video Production, Motion Graphics Production, Media Arts or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
1. One to three years of teaching experience.
2. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mass Comm, Video/Film Production, Motion Graphic or Media Arts.
