Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and technical video services the football program and maintenance of systems within the KFPC building. Work directly with coaching staff to capture unique requests. Responsible for the operation of the XOS digital editing systems to include all coaches' stations and the server. Administer video systems within the building to ensure function of AV distribution, digital signage, and meeting set up. Manage special projects, as assigned. Supervision of applicable temporary student employees.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Responsible for the operations of the XOS editing system, including all football coaches' stations, the server and the network in a secure environment.
  • Must be able to provide coaching staff support.
  • Provide on-call support for football coaches, to include reporting to work after traditional working hours to assist coaches and fulfill special requests regardless of time of day or day of week.
  • Instruct coaches and student-athletes on how to fully utilize video technology to diagnose strengths and weaknesses in technique.
  • Utilizing coaches and student-athletes feedback, prepare action plan including recommendations on improvements of systems.
  • Work with the Director of Football Video Services with projects.
  • Maintain AV systems within the building, including AV distribution, digital signage, and meeting rooms.
  • Be knowledgeable to assist football staff in quick resolutions when issues occur.
  • Serve as vendor contact.
  • Maintain inventory and distribution of equipment, including iPad distribution to staff and student athletics.
  • Assign, instruct and review the work of temporary student employees charged assisting in sports practices and competitions.
  • Responsible for recruiting and training of student staff, coaches, graduate assistants, managers and student athletes on the video systems.
  • Help the Video Director make sure all technology in the building is working as well as up to date.
  • This includes Video boards, projectors and TVs in the building, technology setup for recruiting events, etc.
  • Consult on technology and concepts when video technology is needed.
  • Serve as the primary sport contact with vendors and coordinate all service calls, as needed.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Degree in Video Production, Video Technology, or related degree field preferred.
  • Two (2) years of video operations experience or equivalent education and experience required
  • Experience operating digital and analog video cameras and digital video editing systems necessary
  • Collegiate and/or professional sports video filming experience a plus

Skills needed:
  • Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated competency on video digital editing systems, networks, and local and remote workstations.
  • Ability to stay proficient with new technology and techniques, with sufficient fluency to train coaches, student-athletes, and new employees.
  • Ability to multitask and react quickly to changing needs and circumstances daily.
  • Ability to work as a member of a production team covering a live event.
  • Working knowledge of the convergence of mobile and fixed computing, digital data storage and retrieval, fiber-optic local area networks, non-linear editing systems, and satellite communications.
  • Excellent communication (oral & written), analysis, problem solving and customer service skills necessary.
  • Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels required.
  • Personal computer and related software skills, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database, Internet, etc., necessary. Proficient in Adobe is a plus.
