Veterinary Diagnostic Clinical Laboratory Technician I (Night Shift)

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a leading global animal health diagnostics organization recognized for advancing veterinary laboratory testing and diagnostic innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-volume veterinary reference laboratory where you'll play a key role in delivering accurate diagnostic results that directly support veterinarians and improve animal health outcomes.

Location: Wheat Ridge, CO

Pay Rate: Up to $28.00/hour

Contract Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension based on performance and business needs.

Schedule
  • Regular Shift: Monday-Friday | 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM

  • Training Schedule (First Two Weeks): Monday-Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

  • Candidates must be available to attend the full two-week onsite training program before transitioning to the permanent overnight schedule. Training is designed to ensure proficiency with laboratory workflows, instrumentation, quality systems, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


Position Summary

The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory Technician I performs diagnostic laboratory testing and specimen processing within a fast-paced veterinary reference laboratory. This role is responsible for preparing biological specimens, operating sophisticated laboratory instrumentation, performing quality control procedures, and generating accurate diagnostic results that support veterinary patient diagnosis and treatment.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in veterinary diagnostic laboratories, veterinary hospitals, clinical pathology laboratories, or animal health diagnostic environments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process biological specimens for diagnostic testing, including whole blood, serum, plasma, urine, fecal, and cytology samples.

  • Perform laboratory testing across multiple diagnostic departments, including:

    • Hematology

    • Clinical Chemistry

    • Serology

    • Urinalysis

    • Endocrinology

    • Parasitology

    • Cytology

    • Coagulation

  • Operate high-throughput automated analyzers, microscopes, centrifuges, pipettes, slide stainers, heating blocks, and other laboratory instrumentation.

  • Review, verify, and release laboratory results in accordance with laboratory SOPs and quality standards.

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance on laboratory analyzers and perform basic troubleshooting when necessary.

  • Review Quality Control (QC) reports and Levey-Jennings charts to ensure instrument accuracy and testing reliability.

  • Maintain complete laboratory documentation, including maintenance logs, environmental logs, QC records, specimen tracking documentation, and courier manifests.

  • Prepare biological specimens for shipment to reference laboratories while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) shipping regulations.

  • Handle laboratory inventory, receive supplies, and maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work environment.

  • Follow all laboratory safety procedures, biosafety protocols, PPE requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


Qualifications

One of the following:

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT/CVT/LVT)

  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

  • Medical Technologist (MT/MLS)

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, Biology, Biomedical Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following:

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work overnight hours and occasional overtime as business needs require.


Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
