Volt is immediately hiring Plating Technician 3 for a local leading Manufacturing Company in Kearny Mesa Ca.

As a Plating Technician 3 you will:

Job Description

• Day to Day Responsibilities
• Preparing surfaces for plating, including cleaning, polishing, and sandblasting
• Selecting appropriate plating materials and chemicals based on the desired finish and application requirements.
• Setting up and maintaining plating equipment, such as tanks, pumps, and power supplies.
• Monitoring and adjusting plating parameters, such as voltage, temperature, and current density, to achieve desired results
• Conducting tests to ensure that plated parts meet quality standards, such as adhesion, corrosion resistance, and thickness
• Troubleshooting equipment issues and making necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Maintaining accurate records of plating operations, including usage of chemicals, time spent on each task, and any issues encountered.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to plating operations
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

This is a Full-Time temp-to-hire Opportunity

The ideal candidate will have:

• Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Requires a high school education or equivalent (GED)
  • Requires 5+ years of experience working in a plating or electroplating facility.
  • Experience working with various plating materials and chemicals, as well as experience with plating equipment and tools.
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of chemical safety protocols, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain plating equipment.
  • Good communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team.
  • Meet ITAR US Person requirements 
• Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Prefer post-secondary education, such as an associate degree in chemistry or a related field
  • Certification in plating or electroplating from a recognized industry organization is a plus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Schedule: 1st shift -  Monday ~ Friday  7:00 AM  - 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour DOE

*Pay Rate offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
