Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support the daily operations of our boutique vacation rental property consisting of 10 guest cottages. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth operations, exceptional guest experiences, and high standards across all aspects of the property.

This role requires a hands-on hospitality professional who is comfortable overseeing guest services, housekeeping coordination, property maintenance, and operational logistics. The AGM will help manage daily operations, respond to guest needs, and ensure the property consistently delivers an outstanding stay experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

  • Assist the General Manager with the daily operation of the property and guest cottages
  • Conduct routine property walkthroughs to ensure cottages, grounds, and common areas meet quality standards
  • Ensure the property is guest-ready at all times
  • Oversee daily operational checklists and procedures
  • Assist with scheduling, operational planning, and staff coordination

Guest Experience

  • Provide exceptional guest service and ensure a welcoming environment
  • Assist with guest check-ins, check-outs, and guest communication
  • Respond to guest requests, concerns, or service needs promptly
  • Resolve guest issues professionally and efficiently

Housekeeping & Property Readiness

  • Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure cottages are clean, stocked, and ready for arrivals
  • Inspect cottages after cleaning to maintain quality standards
  • Monitor linen, supplies, and guest amenities inventory

Maintenance & Property Upkeep

  • Identify and report maintenance or repair needs
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff or vendors for repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Assist with oversight of property upkeep including grounds, pool (if applicable), and common areas

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Assist with reservation management and occupancy tracking
  • Support rate and inventory management through the property management system
  • Assist with operational reporting and property performance tracking
  • Help ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures

Team Leadership

  • Support hiring, training, and supervising team members
  • Help maintain a positive team culture and strong communication across departments
  • Provide guidance and leadership during shifts when the General Manager is not on site

Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in hospitality management, hotel operations, or vacation rental management
  • Experience with boutique hotels, inns, or vacation rental properties preferred
  • Strong guest service and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with hotel or vacation rental property management systems preferred
Requirements:
  • Full-time position
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required in hospitality operations

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk the property and perform routine inspections
