About the Company
We’re helping a well-established and growing heavy civil contractor in the Phoenix area, specializing in underground utility projects. They pride themselves on their high-performance teams, innovative solutions, and strong client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for underground utility projects

  • Lead and contribute to preconstruction efforts, including takeoffs, value engineering, and bid strategies

  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and scopes of work

  • Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving measures and constructability improvements

  • Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships; solicit and evaluate quotes

  • Assist with the preparation of Statements of Qualifications, proposals, and design submissions

  • Participate in client and internal review meetings as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction estimating, with a strong emphasis on underground utilities

  • Demonstrated experience with preconstruction planning and delivery methods (Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, JOC)

  • Good knowledge of local market, subcontractor base, and pricing trends

  • Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, Bluebeam)

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and communication skills
