Job description

We are currently seeking Lathe Operator to join our team!

The Lathe Operator performs duties to operate manual or computer numerically controlled machines, including engine, horizontal, or vertical turret lathes. The role involves executing machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, drilling, and chamfering to moderately flexible tolerances.

2nd Shift Opening: Start at 3:00 PM (10-12 Hour shifts) 3 Saturdays per month.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate manual or CNC lathe machines set up by others

  • Perform machining operations: turning, boring, facing, drilling, and chamfering

  • Work from blueprints, job orders, process sheets, and verbal instructions

  • Load parts and verify dimensions using gauges and precision instruments

  • Deburr, drill, and tap components according to specifications

  • Resharpen tools under guidance

  • Report equipment malfunctions, material issues, or unusual conditions

  • Maintain accurate department records

  • Keep work area and equipment clean and organized

  • Move materials and chips using hand tools; may operate a power truck

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions

  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
