We currently have six temporary (agency) openings for Assembly Technicians to join our team in Santa Clara!
Assembly Technician Responsibilities:
Applies knowledge of mechanical assembly processes, precise manual dexterity, use of tools, equipment, products, and production methods to assemble mechanical products such as close tolerance machined components, components, valves, seals, O-rings, pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders, and specified components, partially or completely into assemblies, subassemblies, products, or systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examines items produced to determine if products meet requirements, completes work orders, work instructions, checklists, inspection plans, drawings, and/ or engineering specifications; Assembler I must interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies as well as fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners
- Assembles components by utilizing job travelers, work orders, production drawings, work instructions, checklists, Bill of Materials (BOM), specifications, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions regarding duties
- Participates in inventory accountability, records accurate results, replaces defective components, records defects, and notifies a supervisor as applicable
- Packages finished assemblies into boxes, crates, shipping containers, cases, or cabinets and create labels and related documentation for finished products
- Follows pre-defined procedures in line with established work practices and ensures tools are all calibrated and functional
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to read blueprints
