Job description

Prime Staffing is seeking a travel Cytotechnologist for a travel job in Springfield, Illinois.

Cytotechnologist (Cyto Tech) – 13 Weeks Contract
Location: 701 N 1st St, Springfield, IL 62702

Specialty: Laboratory – Cyto Tech

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine gynecological and non-gynecological specimens including ascitic fluid, gastric, esophageal, spinal, bronchial, and urine samples to identify abnormal or malignant cells.
  • Perform cytology specimen preparation, staining, thin-prep processing, and assist with fine needle aspiration procedures including smear preparation and preliminary review.
  • Maintain quality control, specimen labeling, documentation in Cerner, and collaborate with pathology teams to ensure accurate laboratory testing and reporting.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of Cytotechnologist experience preferred (less may be considered) with outpatient laboratory setting.
  • Experience with Pap testing, body fluid analysis, FNA support, cyto lab prep, QC/QA, and specimen identification.
  • Active ASCP-CT certification and travel experience required.
