Description:

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) role can aid with the following:

I. The Integrative Training Program for Pediatric Sickle Cell Pain (I-STRONG for SCD, Fall 2024-Spring 2025)

The I-STRONG study is a multi-site collaboration with Children’s Hospital of Atlanta/Emory (CHOA), Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The study began in 2022 to focus on adapting and refining an existing multicomponent behavioral intervention to develop a new culturally tailored intervention for youth with chronic sickle cell disease (SCD) pain.

· Recruitment of patients (in-person clinic visits, mailings, and phone calls)

· Retention and communication with patients (frequent points of contact throughout their involvement of the study), arranging transportation and scheduling needs for participants (including conference rooms, SRC needs)

· Guiding participants through the consent forms, prescreener, and additional surveys

· General study documentation, data collection, tracking, management, & troubleshooting (QA for survey/data completion, daily diary reports, adverse event follow-up)

· Training other CRCs and supporting roles as backup

· Managing ClinCard payments, tracking, and documentation

· Ordering supplies, mailings of ClinCard/I-STRONG materials

II. Center for Clinical & Translational Science & Training: Community Engagement Core (CCTST CEC, Fall 2024-Spring 2025)

· Providing on hand support for the following initiatives:

i. Community Leaders Institute

ii. Community Partner Council

iii. Community Engagement Committee

iv. EAC

v. ISP/ISP Studio

vi. Fall & Spring Speaker Series

vii. Discovery Day

Support can include but is not limited to: editing presentations, documenting meeting notes and attendance, establishing and maintaining communication to all stakeholders, and assisting with material/resource distributions for virtual or in-person meetings.

III. Crosby Lab- Sickle Cell Disease Studies (Dates TBA)
