Job Title: Trane Controls Technician (BAS)

Location: Fort Knox, KY (or adjust as needed)

Position Overview:

TeamGOV is seeking a skilled Trane Controls Technician with hands-on experience in building automation systems. This role will focus on supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining HVAC control systems, primarily within Trane environments. The ideal candidate has solid working knowledge of Tracer TU and Trane Ensemble, and is comfortable working independently in an operational environment.

This is not a senior-level role, but candidates must have strong practical experience and the ability to hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Trane building automation and control systems
  • Perform system diagnostics, point-to-point checkout, and controller replacements
  • Utilize Tracer TU for programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting controllers
  • Work within Ensemble front-end to monitor, adjust, and optimize system performance
  • Support integration of HVAC systems including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and VAV systems
  • Respond to service calls and assist with ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M)
  • Work alongside HVAC technicians, electricians, and facility staff to resolve issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, system changes, and updates
  • Assist with system upgrades, retrofits, and expansions as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working with Trane controls or similar BAS platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Tracer TU (programming and troubleshooting)
  • Experience working with Ensemble or similar front-end systems (Niagara, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and sequences of operation
  • Ability to read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Experience with BACnet and/or LonWorks communication protocols
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, controllers on networks, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in government or large commercial facilities
  • Familiarity with Niagara Framework (a plus)
  • Experience with Trane Air-Fi wireless systems (a plus)
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience (low voltage controls)
  • OSHA 10/30 certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain base access (if applicable)
