Job description

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Facilities Operations Manager, the Shuttle Bus Driver is responsible for providing a safe transportation service to our passengers. The driver is required to adhere to the collection and drop-off points for each trip and be mindful of all driver and traffic safety regulations. This is a temporary, part-time role through the end of the academic year. This position is not benefits-eligible.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Arrive at collection points prior to scheduled departure times.

  • Adhere to passenger limits, routes, and schedules.

  • Avoid high-traffic and accident –prone routes.

  • Ensure the shuttle is clean, fueled, and well-maintained.

  • Observe all traffic regulations and safety laws.

  • All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to communicate promptly and professionally regarding absences, tardiness, or scheduling conflicts.

  • Hold Class B Commercial Bus Certification with a passenger endorsement

  • Maintain an amicable and optimistic disposition

  • Ability to work flexible hours and to substitute for other drivers if necessary

EDUCATION:

  • High School graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE:

  • Clean driving record

  • At least 1 year of previous experience transporting groups of people

  • First Aid Training is preferred
