Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Design Engineer to support the design, development, and manufacturing of custom equipment and components used in the glass container industry. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects from concept through production, gaining exposure to mechanical design, product development, manufacturing processes, customer interaction, and project execution.

Responsibilities Include

  • Assist in the design and development of custom machinery, tooling, and engineered components using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Support projects through the full product lifecycle, including concept development, design, prototyping, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and implementation.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel to support machining, assembly, and production activities.
  • Participate in prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Support new product development initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist with material selection and design modifications to improve product performance, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding component specifications and technical requirements.
  • Participate in customer visits, plant walkthroughs, and occasional field service support as needed.
  • Help develop product manuals, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Support engineering change requests and product updates throughout the manufacturing process.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 6 Months of engineering, design, manufacturing (will consider internships and/or co-op experience).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, or similar CAD software.
  • Understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to Have

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn the full lifecycle of engineered products.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
