Shift Details- Monday - Thursday
Job Description
Prepares and positions patients appropriately for vascular studies. Sets-up, operates and maintains related diagnostic equipment.
Job Responsibility
1.Prepares patients for vascular study by determining necessary anatomical positioning of patients in accordance with departmental policy.
2.Operates ultrasonic diagnostic equipment to examine various parts of body (i.e. upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex, ABI/pvr, carotid duplex, trans-cranial duplex/Doppler, visceral vascular, graft surveillance, vein mapping, EVAR/abdominal aortic duplex, etc.
3.Measures and calculates pressures and pulse on peripheral arteries and veins throughout body (carotid, aorta, femoral, popliteal, saphenous).
4.Notifies physician to review and ascertain whether further examination, is required.
5.Prepares and transmits reports and maintains examination records.
6.Maintains equipment in proper working order, makes minor adjustments, and requests repair service, as required.
7.Performs related duties as required.
Job Qualification
Graduate of an accredited medical sonography program, required.
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), required.
Minimum of one (1) year sonography experience in hospital setting, required.
Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), required. Minimum of one (1) year of Vascular Ultrasound experience, REQUIRED. Proficiency Venous in Venous Insufficiency exam, REQUIRED. Ability to communicate effectively.
