Job Description
Production Supervisor - Forsyth, MO
SUMMARY:
The production supervisor plays a key leadership role, oversees the daily activities of safety, quality, production, and leads employees in all production procedures during the assigned shift. Supervises and coordinates all Tableting, Tablet Coating, Encapsulation, Sanitation, and Blending operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production. Partners with other Shift Supervisors, Department Supervisors, and Department Managers to ensure proper handover of activities, algin workflow, resources, and production priorities. Serve as a mentor to front-line operators and leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time. Include, but are not limited to, the following;
Leadership & Operations
Provide managerial, technical, and training leadership across assigned manufacturing units.
Prioritize, schedule, and allocate shift resources to meet daily production requirements and service expectations.
Maintain working knowledge of all production processes, equipment, and systems
Provide daily follow up on production orders scheduled for shipment.
Monitor machine down time and production rates to maintain quality and quantity.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with company safety, quality, and regulatory standards (FDA, Kosher, GMP, HACCP).
Promote safety, sanitation, and workplace organization on a daily basis.
Investigate quality, yield, and operational deviations; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Communicate manufacturing, quality, safety, and colleague concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
Provide a safe working environment.
Monitor cleanliness and mechanical condition of all production equipment.
Review all paperwork on completed formulas for accuracy.
People Management
Recruit, train, and develop operators; ensure required training and certifications are completed.
Manage employee relations, performance management, payroll accuracy, and employee transactions for direct reports.
Enforce SOPs and company policies and address noncompliance as needed.
Maintain daily accountability of all department members.
Direct work, conduct performance appraisals, reward and/or discipline employees, address complaints and resolve problems.
Oversee training and cross-training program.
Continuous Improvement & Inventory
Support initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency, teamwork, and Inventory Record Accuracy.
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the site.
Assist in development and improvement of methods for monitoring quality of product being manufactured.
Other
Act as lead responder during emergencies or security incidents while on duty.
Open and close the facility
Serves as a back up to Sanitation Supervisor/Manager
Perform other duties as assigned
