Job description

WRT is growing and looking for an Entry-Level Urban Designer and Planner (Temporary) to join our studio in San Francisco.
We are looking for a talented Entry-Level Urban Designer and Planner (Temporary) with 1-3 years of relevant experience to work in our San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will share our passion and values to foster resilient and equitable communities, have a strong interest in community design, embrace working on projects across the spectrum of WRT's practice, and be able to work collaboratively with project teams.
The position requires analysis, writing, and graphics for planning projects, as well as community engagement. Projects will include district and neighborhood plans, development and design standards, plans for park and open spaces, and plans for climate resiliency, housing and equity.

Pay Range: $37.02 - $39.90 / hour Skills & Requirements
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Master's degree in urban planning and/or urban design + 1-3 years of relevant work experience (including plan or code graphics, and mapping)
  • OR bachelor's degree in urban planning or architecture + 3-5 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of urban planning theories and practices and urban design fundamentals
  • Community engagement experience required
  • Advanced in technical and graphic software platforms including Adobe CC, ArcGIS analysis tools and 3D tools.
  • Strong and clear graphic, written, and verbal communication with research and analysis skills
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously under the guidance of project managers and senior staff.
  • Ability to liaise with internal teams and sub-consultants under the guidance of project managers and senior staff.

Desired Qualifications (but not mandatory):
  • Bilingual (verbal skills) in Spanish and English
  • Website development using software such as WordPress, Squarespace, Google sites, Wix or similar platform.

Compensation & Benefits Include*:
The expected pay range for this position is between $37.02 - $39.90 / hour. Education, skills, experience, skillset will be considered.
