Job Title: Pipe Welder

Monday - Friday, 50 hours. Some Saturday/Sunday work

$35.00/hr + $100/day per diem

Job Description

This role is based on-site at an industrial construction project in Richmond, IN, focused on new construction involving stainless steel and carbon steel piping. Pipe welders install pipes, fixtures, and related systems in buildings and structures, working from blueprints and adhering to applicable codes to ensure that all piping systems are properly installed and fully functional. The schedule follows a Monday through Friday workweek with ten-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Install stainless steel and carbon steel pipes, fixtures, and related systems in buildings and industrial structures.
  • Perform high-quality TIG, MIG, flux core, and stick welding on pipe and structural components as required by project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine pipe layout, dimensions, and welding requirements.
  • Follow applicable building codes, safety regulations, and project standards to ensure compliant and reliable installations.
  • Fit, tack, and fabricate pipe and structural assemblies, ensuring proper alignment and joint preparation prior to welding.
  • Conduct precise stainless steel and carbon steel pipe welding, including stainless pipe and structural welding in an industrial environment.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5+ years of pipe welding experience in an industrial or construction environment.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel pipe.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding for pipe and structural applications.
  • Experience with flux core welding processes.
  • Experience with stick welding (e.g., 6010 and 7018 electrodes).
  • Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret welding symbols and pipe layouts.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform precise stainless steel welding and stainless pipe welding.
  • Ability to fit, tack, and fabricate pipe and structural components accurately.
  • Capability to pass a weld test that includes a 2" Monster Coupon using 6010/7018 and a 2" schedule 80 joint fully TIG welded out, including cutting straps from both tests.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
