Job description

Lead Electrical Engineer
Location: Blairsville, PA
Type: Contract + per diem + benefits
Pay: $70/hr - $100/hr
Industry: Industrial construction
The Lead Electrical Field Engineer to support construction, commissioning, and startup activities for a major Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power generation project.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical field engineering support during construction and installation
  • Coordinate electrical contractors, commissioning teams, and project stakeholders
  • Support installation of substations, switchyards, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, cable systems, grounding systems, and high-voltage equipment
  • Review electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, vendor packages, RFIs, and field changes
  • Resolve field engineering issues impacting safety, quality, schedule, and cost
  • Support testing, energization, startup, and system turnover activities
  • Participate in constructability reviews, field walkdowns, and commissioning planning.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in power generation, utility, EPC, energy infrastructure, or industrial construction projects
  • Experience supporting CCGT / Combined Cycle Power Plant projects.
  • Strong background with substations, switchyards, transmission interconnections, and high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience supporting construction, field execution, commissioning, and startup activities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Utility interconnection experience
  • EPC project execution experience
  • Electrical commissioning and energization experience
  • Experience with major OEM electrical equipment suppliers
