Job description

Job Title: Solar Installer (Ground-Mount Project)

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling, installing, and maintaining ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for a short-term project lasting approximately 3–4 weeks. You work outdoors performing physically demanding tasks while ensuring all installations meet strict safety, quality, and performance standards.

Position will be 40 hours a week Monday-Friday. Per Diem can be offered if over 75 miles from the job site location in Peridot, AZ. $100 per working day.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install racking, solar modules, wiring, and balance-of-system components for ground-mounted solar arrays.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as post drivers, trenchers, and skid steers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Interpret and follow project plans, layout drawings, and electrical diagrams to complete installations accurately.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA safety requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Assist with site preparation activities, including trenching, conduit installation, and equipment staging.
  • Troubleshoot basic installation issues and support commissioning activities as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with crew leads and team members to meet project timelines and milestones.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the duration of the project.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in solar installation, construction, or general labor.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems relevant to solar PV installations.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components used in ground-mounted arrays.
  • Current fall protection certificate obtained prior to starting work.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Clear commitment to safe work practices and adherence to OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to follow instructions, read layout drawings, and work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in solar, construction, or related trades is preferred.
  • Comfort operating equipment such as post drivers, trenchers, and skid steers.
  • Willingness to learn and gain hands-on experience in solar installation.
  • Reliability and consistency in working throughout the full project duration.
  • Good communication skills and a cooperative approach to working with crew members.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.20 - $28.20/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
