Job Title: Mechanical Installer – Solar Construction Laborer

Job Description

This role supports large-scale solar farm construction by installing piles, racking systems, and photovoltaic (PV) modules across a 3,000-acre site. Mechanical Installers join one of three field crews—Pile Install, Racking Install, or Module Install—and work in a fast-paced outdoor environment to meet daily production goals while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Unload and move materials around the solar farm worksite.
  • Help install steel piles and solar racking systems.
  • Carry materials and equipment to work areas.
  • Use hand and power tools to assemble and secure solar components.
  • Install solar panels on completed racking systems.
  • Measure and inspect work to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Assist with loading, staging, and organizing materials.
  • Perform general construction tasks, including trenching, site cleanup, and earthwork.
  • Support basic electrical work, including cable pulling and wiring, under supervision.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and walk long distances on uneven terrain.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and meet daily production goals.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of construction experience in a non-residential or similar environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
  • Experience unloading trucks, staging materials, and performing basic inventory tasks.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift at least 25 pounds and handle physical labor throughout the workday.
  • At least 1 year of experience using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Comfort working on uneven ground and walking long distances over large outdoor sites.
  • Ability to follow instructions, read or interpret basic blueprints, and work closely with foremen and equipment operators.
  • Capacity to work at a fast pace and consistently meet daily production goals under pressure.
  • Attention to detail when measuring, aligning, and securing racking and modules to ensure proper installation.
  • Reliability and willingness to perform general labor and installation tasks in a construction environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
