What does a temporary solar installer do?

A typical day for a Temporary Solar Installer involves preparing and assembling solar panel systems on residential or commercial rooftops or ground-mounted sites. You’ll work closely with a team to handle equipment, install mounting hardware, wire components, and ensure systems are securely and properly set up, often under varying weather conditions. Safety is a top priority, and following protocols such as using harnesses and protective gear is a standard part of the day. Job description

HIRING IMMEDIATELY – SOLAR CUSTOMER CARE - WFH

Join the team that is changing the way the world thinks about roofs. We don't just put solar on top of a house; we build solar into the house. As a Customer Experience Specialist, you will be the voice of a revolutionary roofing technology that combines world-class protection with clean energy generation. You will support homeowners through the most important renovation they will ever make, providing expert guidance from the moment their solar roof is installed through decades of energy production.

*** This role requires no less than 3 years of experience providing customer service in the solar industry.

Pay rate $32 - $35/hour (based on years of proven experience providing customer service in the solar industry).

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers after their solar roof installation, helping them navigate the transition from a "standard" roof to a power-generating asset.
  • Explain the unique benefits of integrated solar shingles, including how they differ from traditional panels in terms of aesthetics, durability, and warranty coverage.
  • Assist customers with the setup and troubleshooting of their solar monitoring portals, ensuring they can track their "Energy from Every Roof" in real-time.
  • Educate homeowners on Net Metering (NEM), utility interconnection, and how to read their new, solar-adjusted energy bills.
  • Identify and log system performance issues, coordinating with our project managers and certified roofing partners to ensure every roof is performing at its peak.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a high-touch call center/customer support role.
  • 3 years’ experience in the solar industry is required, particularly with a focus on residential homeowners.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills. You can explain the "science of solar" in a way that feels simple and accessible.
  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce or SAP preferred) and remote communication tools (Slack, G-Suite, Zoom).
