PV Solar Technician

This includes the development, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of renewable power plants -mainly wind and photovoltaic technologies-, energy sales and management and marketing, energy services, self-consumption, electric mobility and new technologies such as storage and green hydrogen. ACCIONA Energía is seeking a PV Solar Technician to support operations at our Red-Tailed Hawk Solar Farm located in El Campo, TX. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting solar energy systems to ensure their safe, reliable, and efficient performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PV systems, inverters, and battery storage equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues while following strict safety protocols.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety analyses, and participate in safety training and emergency drills.
  • Support inventory control, documentation, and warranty tracking for replacement parts.
  • Operate and maintain electrical equipment up to 345kV, including performing lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the operations center and cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist with new installations, commissioning, and project-based site work.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • 2 years of directly related experience in solar, renewable energy, or equivalent electrical environments.
  • Hands-on problem solver who thrives in fast-paced outdoor settings, demonstrating strong technical skills and an unwavering commitment to safety.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems, including knowledge of electrical theory, power electronics, substation equipment, and control systems.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools, electrical test equipment, and capable of reading schematics, one-line, and wiring diagrams while working independently with high attention to detail.
  • Capable of working in varying weather conditions, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing physically demanding tasks in field environments.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (technical degree or journeyman certification preferred), a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a U.S. passport.
  • Willingness to travel and work night shifts or extended hours as needed.

Job Location: Red-Tailed Hawk Solar Farm, 6600 Cr 421, El Campo, TX 77437

Working Conditions: All technicians are provided with the necessary tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) to work safely and efficiently. Uniform allowance to keep you equipped and comfortable on-site. GWO (Global Wind Organization) training and certifications to ensure compliance with international safety standards.

Pay & Benefits: Base Pay: $28 – $38 (based on experience, education, and skillset) plus on-call pay. 5% Annual Performance Bonus (based on individual performance and company metrics) and 5% Availability Bonus.
