Commercial Solar Preconstruction Coordinator
We are a growing commercial solar EPC specializing in commercial rooftop solar and battery energy storage projects throughout New York. We design, engineer, procure, and deliver high-quality renewable energy projects for businesses, municipalities, and organizations.
Position Summary
We're looking for a highly organized, technically minded professional to own the preconstruction process from estimating through material readiness.
This role is responsible for developing project estimates, coordinating procurement, managing vendor relationships, purchasing materials, coordinating site equipment, and ensuring projects are fully prepared for construction.
If you enjoy solving logistical challenges, negotiating with suppliers, building complete material packages, and supporting successful project execution, we'd like to talk with you.
Responsibilities
  •  Prepare commercial solar project estimates and material takeoffs. 
  •  Develop complete Bills of Material (BOMs), including balance-of-system (BOS) components. 
  •  Source, purchase, and track project materials. 
  •  Negotiate pricing and maintain supplier relationships. 
  •  Coordinate deliveries and manage long-lead items. 
  •  Schedule and manage site equipment including lifts, forklifts, cranes, dumpsters, and temporary facilities. 
  •  Coordinate with engineering, finance, and construction to ensure projects are construction-ready. 
  •  Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality. 
Qualifications
  •  Experience in commercial construction estimating, procurement, or project coordination. 
  •  Ability to read construction drawings and electrical plans. 
  •  Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. 
  •  Experience purchasing construction materials and coordinating logistics. 
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction-related software. 
Preferred
  •  Commercial electrical or solar experience. 
  •  Experience with commercial rooftop solar. 
  •  Experience working with electrical distributors or commercial contractors.
