General Description:
The Social Media Intern supports Juneau's social media presence by helping create engaging content that showcases our people, projects, and culture. Working closely with the Brand Strategy Manager, this role provides hands-on experience in content creation and social media management while developing an understanding of brand storytelling and the construction industry. The ideal candidate is creative, curious, organized, and eager to learn about social media strategy and content development.
Position Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field
  • Strong interest in social media marketing, digital marketing, and content creation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and emerging social media platforms
  • Experience creating content for personal, school, campus organization, or professional social media accounts
  • Basic design and short-form video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar)
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for creativity and brand integrity
  • Willingness to learn social media, digital marketing best practices, and about the construction industry

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning and executing social media campaigns for Juneau's channels, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Capture photos and videos at jobsites, company events, and volunteer activities.
  • Create, schedule, and publish content across Juneau's social media platforms.
  • Write engaging social media captions that align with Juneau's brand voice.
  • Create short-form videos to showcase Juneau's values.
  • Assist with building and maintaining Juneau's content calendar.
  • Monitor social media trends and identify relevant opportunities for Juneau to participate.
  • Brainstorm and research ideas for original content and trending topics.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and mentions.
  • Track and report on social media performance metrics and results and identifies opportunities to improve engagement
  • Help ensure consistency of Juneau's brand messaging and visual identity across all social platforms.

Job Expectations
  • Position may require extended periods of time sitting and/or standing, talking both in person and over technological avenues, lifting up to 20 lbs. as needed.
  • Periodic travel to Juneau Construction Company jobsites in the southeast for content capturing.
