Job description

Job Summary
Skillshot Media is seeking a highly skilled, creative Broadcast Editor to support live and studio content at our Uptown Atlanta studio, steps from the MARTA Lindbergh Center station. This is an on-site position. You’ll coordinate and execute multimedia editing workflows across long-form programming and short-form promotional content, collaborating closely with the Head of Production, Executive Producer, and broader production team. Ideal candidates bring strong storytelling chops, deep familiarity with competitive gaming, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities / Duties
  • Partner with Production leadership to develop, create, and edit content for broadcast, social media promotions, internal sales enablement, highlight reels, and more
  • Own and optimize post-production workflows, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality output across platforms
  • Edit long-form programming: documentaries, clip shows, studio series for in-house use and Skillshot streaming channels; schedule rebroadcasts on platforms like Twitch
  • Edit short-form content: promotional spots, docu-style features, opens/teases, sizzle reels, highlights, and social content
  • Collaborate with producers, directors, writers, designers, observers, and other editors on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Create motion graphics elements (typography, photography, video, animation), including in-engine renders, free-cam fly-throughs, X-ray modes, and other in-game features; partner with in-house production personnel on execution
  • Provide sound design, color correction, and finishing for broadcast-ready deliverables
  • Work with observers to design and capture in-game camera movements for use in post
  • Manage content workflow and project organization, including media ingest, versioning, backups, and archive
  • Communicate issues to operations, engineering, production, and production management; troubleshoot and resolve as they arise
  • Contribute to process improvements and documentation of best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Production

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of broadcasting, production, and programming systems, equipment, and procedures
  • Advanced proficiency with:
  • Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop
  • Avid Media Composer and/or Final Cut
  • HD/modern post-production workflows, codecs, and color pipelines
  • Strong storytelling and editorial judgment; ability to craft clear narratives from complex source material
  • Deep understanding of esports titles and current gaming trends; experience operating in-game spectator modes
  • Ability to utilize game files (modified or unmodified) to create/pull assets from within game engines for various projects
  • Familiarity with MOBA draft sequences and the ability to recreate them in post; understanding of how draft elements appear in live environments
  • Experience with gaming communities and social platforms; awareness of IP restrictions per title and platform guidelines
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail; comfortable working cross-functionally with Production leadership and team members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; calm under pressure during live broadcasts and tight deadlines
  • Practical understanding of in-game graphics settings (color, anti-aliasing, v-sync) and their impact on capture quality
