POSITION SUMMARY

Supports the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of the local technology environment by combining hands-on end-user support with systems, endpoint, identity, infrastructure, Microsoft 365, backup, security, and business technology administration. Serves as the local technical resource and liaison between business users, Corporate IT, cybersecurity teams, application owners, manufacturing/operational technology teams, and authorized service providers.

POSITION PURPOSE

Maintain stability, availability, security, and performance of assigned local IT infrastructure while providing responsive technical support, resolving issues, supporting improvements, and coordinating standardized technology services with Corporate IT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·   End-User Support: Provide timely support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, conference-room technology, peripherals, Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, and approved business applications; document incidents and resolutions; identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.

·   Onboarding, Transfers & Offboarding: Coordinate workstation setup, equipment deployment, access/license coordination, equipment relocation or replacement, and asset recovery.

·   Server & Infrastructure Administration: Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, migrate, replace, and retire assigned physical/virtual server environments, including VMware and Hyper-V; support directory, authentication, file, print, certificates, scheduled tasks, storage, performance, patching, inventories, and lifecycle records.

·   Identity & Access: Support Microsoft Entra ID, user/group administration, access assignments, MFA, account lifecycle activities, synchronization, access reviews, and remediation within delegated authority; escalate privileged or high-risk access requests.

·   Endpoint Administration: Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, maintain, replace, and retire endpoint devices using approved procedures and tools such as Microsoft Intune and Configuration Manager; support patching, compliance, encryption, software deployment, license compliance, inventory, data sanitization, and asset management.

·   Network & Local Infrastructure Support: Provide first-line troubleshooting for wired/wireless connectivity, network-connected equipment, telecommunications, cabling, server rooms, network closets, racks, power systems, and related documentation; coordinate advanced issues with Corporate IT or service providers.

·   Backup, Recovery & Continuity: Monitor enterprise backup jobs, capacity, retention, alerts, and failures; assist with restores, disaster-recovery planning/testing, recovery documentation, and escalation of backup, storage, recovery, capacity, or data-integrity risks.

·   Microsoft 365 Collaboration Services: Support account provisioning, licensing, service configuration, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, synchronization, sharing, permissions, client issues, and implementation of Corporate IT retention, access, sharing, and security standards.

·   Cybersecurity & Compliance: Support vulnerability remediation, patching, endpoint protection, encryption, access reviews, secure configurations, incident reporting, diagnostic data collection, evidence preservation, audit documentation, remediation, and user security awareness.

·   Manufacturing/Operational Technology & Business Applications: Support approved manufacturing, operational, and business technology systems, including workstations, servers, interfaces, connectivity, authentication, printing, communications, applications, dependencies, vendors, upgrades, migrations, testing, maintenance, and lifecycle activities within authorized scope.

·   Automation, Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Use PowerShell and approved tools to automate routine tasks; maintain scripts, SOPs, diagrams, inventories, recovery procedures, support notes, root-cause documentation, and improvement recommendations.

·   Vendor Coordination & Projects: Manage authorized vendor support cases and on-site/remote service completion; track warranties, renewals, support agreements, licensing, and subscriptions; support infrastructure, cybersecurity, endpoint, cloud, application, manufacturing technology, migration, and refresh projects.

DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

Independently resolves routine operational issues and performs approved administrative activities within delegated authority. Management or authorized technical approval is required before significant production changes, privileged access outside delegated authority, tenant-wide Microsoft 365 or Entra ID changes, enterprise network/security changes, new technology platforms, unbudgeted purchases, business-critical decommissioning, validated manufacturing/OT changes, or exceptions to IT/security standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·   Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent education, certifications, training, and experience.

·   3-5 years of progressive experience in IT support, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a related technical role.

·   Hands-on experience supporting enterprise server environments, endpoint devices, and business technology.

·   Working knowledge of directory services, authentication, file permissions, networking fundamentals, infrastructure services, patching, backups, monitoring, cybersecurity controls, and change management.

·   Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, authentication, printing, collaboration tools, and business application issues.

·   Experience with one or more: VMware, Hyper-V, Intune, Configuration Manager, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerShell, enterprise backup platforms, or manufacturing/operational technology environments.

·   Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, documentation, communication, customer-service, confidentiality, prioritization, and collaboration skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·   Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.

·   5+ years of systems administration, infrastructure support, or enterprise IT operations experience.

·   Experience administering or supporting multiple enterprise technologies listed above.

·   Experience with lifecycle management, infrastructure upgrades, platform migrations, systems implementations, and multi-site organizations, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, or distribution environments.
