Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

This leadership-level Electrical Engineer role sits within a multi-discipline electrical and power team and serves as a key technical resource for complex commercial and industrial customer projects. You will support multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on electrical power systems and industrial automation, while providing technical strategic leadership and mentorship to engineers on the team. The role requires mastering a broad range of power skills and technologies and contributing directly to high-impact modernization and automation initiatives across diverse industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery for electrical engineering projects within a multi-discipline electrical and power team.
• Serve as a primary technical resource for external customers on complex commercial and industrial applications.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality, on-time completion of electrical engineering deliverables.
• Design, analyze, and optimize electrical power systems, including low voltage and medium voltage power distribution.
• Apply expertise in industrial automation to support modernization projects and enterprise-level manufacturing execution systems (MES) initiatives.
• Evaluate and specify electrical equipment such as switchgear and relay protection systems for safe and reliable operation.
• Perform short circuit analysis and other power systems studies to ensure system integrity and compliance with relevant standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate electrical solutions into broader project scopes.
• Provide technical strategic leadership, mentoring, and guidance to early-career engineers and peers.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to clarify requirements, present solutions, and build strong working relationships.
• Organize and manage multiple project assignments efficiently, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and standards within the electrical team.

Essential Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and power distribution for commercial and industrial applications.
• Hands-on experience with low voltage and medium voltage power systems, including low voltage power distribution.
• Experience with industrial automation in manufacturing or processing environments.
• Proficiency in short circuit analysis and other power system studies.
• Familiarity with switchgear selection, configuration, and application.
• Understanding of relay protection principles and applications in power systems.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to take on and complete multiple project assignments efficiently.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relational working partnerships.
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

The role operates in industrial and commercial settings where you will frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. You may occasionally encounter wet or humid conditions; work at high or precarious places; and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level is usually moderate but can be very loud at times. The culture is highly collaborative and team-oriented, rooted in strong client partnerships, with hands-on technical leaders who actively mentor and develop engineers. The organization maintains a consistently busy, stable workload year-round and continues to grow geographically, offering long-term stability, an employee ownership structure (ESOP), and clear pathways into engineering, project leadership, or specialty roles.

This is a Permanent position based out of Eddyville, IA.

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Eddyville,IA.
