Job description

Meta is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our Labs Infrastructure Network Compliance Security (LINCS) team within the Infrastructure Data Center (IDC) org as an individual contributor. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in managing risk for our rapidly scaling global infrastructure and operations portfolio spanning data centers, edge, backbone, subsea, and supply chain. Our mission is to design, implement, and maintain robust physical and logical security systems that ensure business continuity, protect customer data, and assure compliance with Meta’s security policies and regulatory requirements.
LINCS Security Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Manage security risk across logical and physical security domains accountable for security risk management across logical and physical security domains
  • Assess security risk and communicate information about security threats and vulnerabilities to inform business decisions and drive strategy
  • Own the implementation, ongoing maintenance, and continuous improvement of established physical security and compliance programs across LINCS infrastructure, beginning with Owned facilities and extending to Leased, Cloud, Edge, and Subsea as those programs mature
  • Run access management across Owned and Leased infrastructure, including quarterly access reviews and access automation, and help build a net-new capability for oversight of leased and cloud-delegated security, including recurring SLA validation of contracted terms and enforcement of violations
  • Assess and report on effectiveness of security controls to inform security strategy, manage security risk, and enable business operations
  • Engineer security solutions across the network, physical, and cyber/logical domains that efficiently protect Meta infrastructure from security threats at scale
  • Develop and operationalize security guidance (e.g., standards, guidelines, playbooks) to align corporate policy, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements into a unified strategy
  • Integrate security solutions throughout the entire data center lifecycle including: planning, design, construction, operations, refresh, and decommissioning

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in network security, infrastructure security, or telecommunications security, with demonstrated ownership of security programs in large-scale network environments
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent additional experience
  • Experience working across multiple security domains such as network security, physical security, and logical/cyber security
  • Experience in establishing, scaling, and maturing security projects and programs
  • Experience supporting security for large-scale and/or mission-critical infrastructure and operations
  • Basic understanding of network engineering fundamentals, such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, network segmentation, and protocol analysis
  • Basic understanding of network security, including the design, implementation, and management of secure network architectures for large-scale network infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience in managing, executing, and delivering multiple complex projects and programs by prioritizing based on impact, deadlines, and stakeholder needs
  • Experience working on or managing projects that have enterprise-wide impact and/or multi-organization, cross-functional stakeholders
  • Understanding and awareness of prevailing industry standards and guidelines
  • Background in intrusion detection, security investigations, and incident response
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience working directly in hyperscale data center programs or other large-scale mission-critical infrastructure
