The Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Scenario Writer / Design Support Analyst provides subject-matter expertise and produces realistic EW scenario products for the U.S. Army Mission Command Training Program (MCTP). This role designs EW storylines, Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) injects, and dynamic script support that replicate operational electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) conditions to meet unit training objectives. The EW Scenario Writer synchronizes EW events across exercise components, integrates current threat and intelligence inputs, and advises OPFOR and exercise leadership on EW impacts to training audiences.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide EW scenario products and SME support to replicate a realistic operational environment (OE) enabling units to meet training objectives.
  • Develop EW storylines and MSEL injects aligned to unit training objectives. Storylines will address allied, host-nation, and adversary EMS capabilities, requirements, and employment; and outline processes for seeking permission to conduct EMS operations (interfacing with JED and host-nation civil authorities).
  • Coordinate EW storyline development within the broader scenario design effort and support dynamic scripting/adjustments during live exercises.
  • Synchronize and supervise the execution of all EW-related storylines and associated MSELs during the exercise, ensuring timely and coherent delivery of EW effects across play areas.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Deployed experience as EW NCO or Officer.
  • Officer, Warrant Officer, or NCO school. Qualifications and certifications can include 29A, 29E, 290A, 17B, 170B, and 17E.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and attributes to apply Microsoft Office products, relevant Army EW experience, and EW/Army/Joint doctrine to support delivery of WFX requirements.
  • BS/BA degree with 5 years of military experience, or High School and 10 years of military experience.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent military experience.
  • 5+ years operational experience in Electromagnetic Warfare, electronic warfare operations, spectrum management, signals intelligence, or closely related fields supporting military operations and training.
  • Prior experience supporting MCTP, Combat Training Centers (CTCs), or large-scale joint/coalition training events.
  • Demonstrated experience writing scenario content, MSEL injects, and exercise materials for unit-level or higher collective training (brigade/division/coalition).

Working Conditions: Inside Government training facilities.
Required Travel: Employees will travel to temporary work locations during exercises.
