Job Description

Eurofins Enviro-Works Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical PLM Laboratory Analyst to join our team in Edmonton, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting sample preparation and analysis using the appropriate analytical methods. You will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory's efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and analysis of environmental samples using Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM);
  • Preparation and analysis of environmental samples using Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM);
  • Cross training in other analysis and areas of testing;
  • Ensure that company policies are adhered to;
  • Ensure that work-scheduling procedures adequately address client needs;
  • Provide customer service to clients;
  • Responsible for the data reported by the laboratory;
  • Ensure that QA/QC standards are implemented, understood, and administered, as per  company policy;
  • Supports the QC program;
  • Data entry into LIMS system;
  • Work collectively and collaborate in a Team environment;
  • Determination of visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos material;
  • Must be able to see accurately sight colors through microscope;
  • Submits all QC data reports as directed;
  • Establishes or adjusts workflow to meet turnaround time schedules;
  • Operate an autoclave;
  • Ensure that company polices are adhered to;
  • Ensure that work-scheduled procedures adequately address client needs;
  • Provide customer service to clients;
  • Other laboratory duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • The candidate must be fully trained and proficient in performing PLM bulk asbestos analysis as part of the role.
  • University degree or college diploma in a science field.
  • Basic computer literacy;
  • Laboratory safety and WHMIS training;
  • Technical knowledge of applicable test methods
  • Monday to Friday:  7:30am to 4pm (potential weekend/evening work as required).

This is a temporary contract position for 6 months.
