Job description

Overview
The Registered Nurse (Temporary) provides direct clinical care, care coordination, and patient education in an ambulatory practice setting. The RN works collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Patient Management
  • Perform patient assessments including vital signs, history review, and clinical data collection
  • Triage patient concerns via phone, electronic messaging, or in person using established clinical protocols
  • Provide nursing care and interventions within scope of practice and per provider orders
  • Assist providers with in-office procedures and examinations as applicable; MFM Only: this includes NSTs
  • Administer medications, injections, vaccines, and treatments as ordered
  • Identify and appropriately escalate urgent or emergent patient conditions
  • MFM Only: Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions including diabetes in pregnancy, hypertension, multiple gestation, fetal anomalies, preterm labor risk, and maternal medical comorbidities
Care Coordination & Follow-Up
  • Coordinate care with providers, ancillary departments, external facilities, and specialists
  • Arrange referrals, diagnostic testing, procedures, and follow-up appointments
  • Review laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate findings to providers and patients as directed
  • Support care transitions including hospital admissions, discharges, and post-visit follow-up
Patient Education & Advocacy
  • Provide patient and family education related to conditions, treatments, medications, and care plans
  • Reinforce provider instructions and ensure patient understanding of next steps and warning signs
  • Provide care with cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and empathy
  • Advocate for patients to support informed decision-making and access to care
Documentation & Compliance
  • Document assessments, care provided, and patient communications accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
  • Ensure compliance with clinical policies, safety standards, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety, and performance initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program - either a two-year Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Required: Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience Industry: Healthcare
Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory or specialty practice setting
Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
