Connect Staffing is hiring a Batch Maker / Kitchen Operator for a contract food manufacturer in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will measure and combine bulk ingredients per production recipes and operate industrial mixers, ribbon blenders, and paddle mixers to produce nutrition bars, protein bars, and baked goods. This is a steady Monday-Friday schedule with a consistent shift time and overtime available on Saturdays.
Pay: $20.00/hr
Available schedules: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) and 8-hour shifts. Open to both morning and night shifts.

Responsibilities- Weigh and measure bulk ingredients using production scales and load them into batch hoppers and mixing systems.
- Operate ribbon blenders and paddle mixers in accordance with batch recipes and production schedules.
- Move heavy sacks of ingredients and bulk materials using hand trucks and dollies.
- Monitor mixing cycles and verify batch consistency before releasing to the next production stage.
- Clean and sanitize mixing equipment and work area between batches.
- Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), PPE, and machine guarding safety procedures throughout the shift.
Minimum Requirements- 1+ year of experience in batch making, mixing, blending, food production, supplement manufacturing, commercial bakery production, or similar hands-on production work.
- Experience working in a physically demanding role, such as production, manufacturing, warehousing, commercial kitchens, construction, landscaping, moving, sanitation, or general labor.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience operating industrial mixing equipment, including ribbon blenders, paddle mixers, and planetary mixers.
- Familiarity with bulk material handling equipment and ingredient scaling systems.
- Basic mechanical knowledge - ability to identify equipment issues and perform minor adjustments.
- Experience in nutrition bar, protein bar, snack food, or baked goods manufacturing.
- High school diploma or GED; additional training in food processing or manufacturing is a plus.
- Bilingual in any of the following is a plus and qualifies for an additional $1/hr: Spanish, French, Swahili, or Dari.
- Ability to read and follow written production recipes and batch instructions accurately.
