Job description

Job Title: Field Safety Specialist (Electrical Construction)
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Field Safety Specialist to join our project leadership team and champion a "Safety First" culture across our electrical construction operations. In this role, you will be the primary technical resource for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while providing hands-on support to field personnel. You will be responsible for developing project-specific safety plans, facilitating site trainings, and leading incident investigations. The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder who views safety as a state of mind and can effectively integrate high-level safety standards into daily production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all site activities adhere to OSHA mandates and electrical industry consensus standards (NFPA, NESC, ASTM, and ANSI).
• Strategic Safety Planning: Assist Project Leadership in developing and maintaining comprehensive safety strategies and roadmaps to mitigate site-specific hazards.
• Field Engagement: Actively support and engage with field personnel to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and address localized safety concerns.
• Incident Management: Facilitate thorough incident investigations for all injuries or illnesses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Training & Development: Serve as a co-facilitator for safety trainings and testing; assist in the execution of weekly safety meetings to ensure consistent messaging.
• Technical Support: Provide guidance to General Foremen and Project Managers on high-risk activities, including work at heights and confined space entry.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. A Bachelor's degree in EHS, Construction Management, or Engineering is preferred.
• Licensure & Certifications:
oOSHA 30 Construction (Required).
oBCSP Certification (ASP, CSP, or CHST) is highly preferred.
oCPR/First Aid Certified (Trainer status preferred).
oValid state-issued driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Experience: 3+ years of construction safety experience, with a strong preference for candidates with electrical industry exposure.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of electrical safety standards and the ability to apply them in a dynamic field environment.
General Work Environment
• Ability to work in both indoor office settings and outdoor construction job sites with varying environmental conditions.
• Physical capacity for standing, walking, climbing, and occasional work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed for equipment handling or site inspections.
