Overview
The candidate will perform a variety of engineering work including but not limited to, initial planning, design phases, and construction support of substation projects. Ability to manage the civil/structural aspect of substation projects with little oversight. The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, self-disciplined, and able to work independently. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are critical.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct and review structural engineering calculations and associated design drawings on a multi-discipline team of engineers executing complex engineering projects for clients in the utility, renewable, and oil & gas industries.
  • Coordinate resourcing needs to meet client deadlines with management team.
  • May be responsible for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare proposals and estimates for various projects.
  • Assist with project management including budgets, schedules, and client relations.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record for projects.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar/related field, from an accredited school or university is required.
  • Minimum 5 years structural engineering experience in utility industry.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer, PREFERRED.
  • Must have experience leading small to medium sized Civil/Structural engineering design teams.
  • Must have excellent oral/written communication skills and ability to work well in teams.
  • Ability to apply analytical or scientific thinking to define and solve problems and be able to execute field and office tasks.
  • Proficient with Risa3D, Risa Foundation, Mathcad, Mat3D, SAP2000, STAAD, AutoCAD, LPile, Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, ASTM, ANSI, API, IBC, OSHA, PIP etc.).
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate.
  • Ability to identify and develop solutions to complex problems or seek guidance from more experienced engineers.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
