Description of Work
The Senior Accountant oversees financial management for Nebraska Public Media, ensuring accurate budgeting, reporting, and compliance. They audit and approve expenditures, supervise clerical staff, and manage payroll expenses. The role includes overseeing revenues such as contractual services, royalties, and endowment funds while ensuring proper fund allocation. They assist with financial reporting, database reconciliation, and month-end and year-end closing processes. Additionally, they manage grant-related financial activities, including budgeting, invoicing, and reporting.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or closely related field plus three years of relevant accounting experience; equivalent education/experience considered. GAAP Accounting knowledge; ability to use computerized accounting systems effectively; ability to use personal computers for spreadsheets, word processing and databases.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in accounting, business administration, or closely related field. Five years of accounting and supervisory experience. Experience with grant accounting and contractual administration. Active CPA license preferred.
