Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic works closely with maintenance electricians to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain blow molding equipment and a variety of robotics and automation systems. This role focuses on ensuring reliable operation of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including conveyors, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and various tanks. A strong mechanical is essential, and experience with plastics manufacturing and electrical troubleshooting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with maintenance electricians to troubleshoot and repair blow molding equipment and automation systems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues on conveyors, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related production equipment.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting on production machinery, including basic PLC-related troubleshooting as needed.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair robotics and various automation equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair of injection molding and plastics processing equipment when required.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in accordance with facility procedures.
• Collaborate with operations and production teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and support continuous improvement of equipment performance.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical skillset with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems including conveyors, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting on production machinery and automation equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Experience working with blow molding equipment or similar plastics manufacturing machinery.
• Knowledge of robotics and automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting skills to support equipment diagnostics.
• Demonstrated ability to perform safe and effective repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repair within injection molding or plastics processing environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in plastics manufacturing, including blow molding and injection molding processes.
• Experience in repair and maintenance of highly automated production lines.
• Familiarity with climate-controlled, clean manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative maintenance and production team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing equipment issues.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and advanced automation technologies.

Work Environment

The role follows an 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday schedule, currently operating only on first shift, which supports a stable and predictable workweek. The facility is very clean and climate controlled, providing a comfortable and organized setting for maintenance activities. You work with new equipment and highly automated systems in a modern warehouse environment, focusing on blow molding, injection molding, robotics, and related production machinery.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenosha, WI 53142.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
