Job description

As the Registered Nurse you will deliver high-quality care throughout each shift. You will be responsible for planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care and using the nursing process to assess client needs and guide treatment. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate intakes, facilitate a mind and body connection group, and facilitate individual check-ins with clients navigating different symptoms impeding them from fully participating in the daily planned activities. ABOUT STEP
The STEP (Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress) Program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca located in Concord, CA. STEP provides intensive, short-term stabilization services to youth, ages 12-17, for an average of 15 days. Our goal is to reintegrate our youth into schools and the community with lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate illness or injuries
  • Monitor Physician orders for medication or treatment, and prescriptions filled at outside pharmacies
  • Maintain working relationships with Pediatricians, Specialists, Psychiatrists, Therapists, and hospitals who provide care to clients
  • Arrange appointments or receive orders for treatments when nursing expertise is required to facilitate the process
  • Ongoing training with staff on medications and handling medications
  • Provide other health-related education to staff and clients
  • Document all nursing interventions, including maintaining medication assistance records
  • Collect and analyze assessment data to identify treatment problems and formulate individualized outcomes and plans. Implement and evaluate nursing interventions
  • Review all medical incident reports for shifts
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Meet regularly with the Program Director and Psychiatrists as requested
  • Collaborate with Psychiatrist to ensure quality of medication administration, adequate consents, medical treatment and follow-up

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing OR
    • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Active CA Registered Nurse license
  • Current CPR-BLS certification
  • At least 21 years of age
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy

PREFERRED:
  • Good critical-thinking, communication, and organization skills
  • Psychiatric Nursing experience
  • Bilingual Spanish skill set

SCHEDULE
  • Temporary; Full-time
    • End date 3/2027
  • Monday - Friday; 8am - 4pm

    • Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
