Temporary Remote Task information

What are temporary remote tasks?

Temporary remote tasks are short-term work assignments that can be completed from any location with internet access. These jobs are usually project-based or involve specific duties that do not require a long-term commitment with an employer. Common examples include data entry, online research, content moderation, or virtual assistant work. Temporary remote tasks are ideal for those seeking flexible work arrangements or supplementary income, and they can often be found on freelance or gig work platforms.

What are some common challenges faced when working in a temporary remote task role, and how can they be managed?

One common challenge in temporary remote task roles is adjusting quickly to new tools and workflows, as each assignment may use different platforms or processes. Additionally, communication can be more difficult due to the short-term nature and lack of established relationships with team members. To manage these challenges, it's important to be proactive in asking questions, familiarize yourself with provided resources early, and maintain clear, prompt communication with supervisors. Staying organized and adaptable will help you complete tasks efficiently and make a positive impression for potential future opportunities.

Job description

Are you highly skilled at finding the best and the brightest talent? Do you want to join a Product-centric company that celebrates diversity and encourages you to keep reaching to do your best work? If you thrive in a competitive and collaborative team environment that values an exceptional candidate experience, and a high talent bar, this may be the position for you!
About the Team:
ChowNow is one of the leading players in off-premise restaurant technology. As takeout becomes a vital revenue stream for independent restaurants, our platform helps owners focus on what they do best-serving great food-by offering solutions across the entire digital dining experience. From building branded websites and mobile apps, to powering online orders, managing menus, consolidating delivery, and running targeted marketing, we give restaurants the tools to grow on their own terms.
We support over 20,000 restaurants across North America, helping process $1B+ in gross food sales while saving our partners over $700M in third-party commission fees. Through our white-label ordering solutions, a growing demand network (including Google, Yelp, Apple, and Snap), and a diner-friendly marketplace, we empower independent restaurants to own their customer relationships and avoid inflated pricing and fees charged by 3rd party delivery apps like Uber and Doordash.
Founded in 2012, we've navigated rapid growth and transformation-from startup roots through the pandemic boom-and are now beginning an exciting new era under our CEO, Kanika Soni. As we evolve with new leadership and cutting-edge tools, we're deepening our commitment to helping local restaurants thrive in the digital economy.
About the Position:
As a member of the Recruiting team, you'll develop strong relationships to understand ChowNow's continually evolving organization. You will own the hiring efforts for various positions across multiple departments on both the technical and non-technical side of the house. You'll develop creative recruiting strategies and be a consultant to hiring managers and senior leaders, along with a focus on proactive networking, diversity hiring, and innovative approaches to passive candidate engagement.
This is a 4-6 month temporary engagement. Reports to the Recruiting Manager. No direct reports.
This is a remote role based in the United States. Please note: ChowNow is not eligible to employ in every state and the recruiting team will confirm location and eligibility before moving past initial stages.
WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT YOU:
You put restaurants first. You deeply understand the importance of local restaurants and put them at the center of everything you do. You aim to help them not only survive but thrive.
You celebrate diversity. You recognize that diversity and inclusivity matter. You're committed to progress, which means everyone gets the support and resources they need, no matter who they are. You have an ability to listen to other team members' ideas and can thrive in an environment that embraces individuality. Everyone's voice counts.
You raise your hand. You consistently go above and beyond what is asked of you. You help your peers accomplish their tasks while also excelling at accomplishing your own. When you have a smart idea, you raise your hand and share it.
You keep reaching. You set clear ambitious goals. You don't allow yourself to become complacent with where you're at and what you've done, so you seek out new opportunities and challenges.
With 1 Month, You'll:
  • Progress through our Ramp Camp (ChowNow's New Hire Onboarding Experience).
  • Build strong relationships with the hiring managers that you support.
  • Work with your Hiring managers to develop creative strategies for engaging top talent through resume screening, outbound sourcing, networking, referrals, etc
  • Get your first candidate through the Recruiting funnel and to the final interview loop.

Within 2 Months, You'll:
  • Master pipeline management and complex scheduling coordination with little supervision
  • Build strong relationships with hiring teams across the organization
  • Maintain a healthy candidate pipeline to support your requisition load
  • Successfully source, schedule and hire 2+ candidates.

Within 3 Months, You'll:
  • Successfully source and hire 3+ candidates.

You Should Apply If:
  • You have 3+ years experience in Full Cycle Recruiting (including scheduling) in the tech industry
  • You have a proven track record of building pipelines of qualified and diverse candidates across varying disciplines both technical (you don't need to know how to code, but understand the basic differences between the UI and databases, and all that's in between) and non technical roles (sales, marketing, partnerships)
  • You have prior experience extending offers and closing candidates and are able to manage several requisitions at once.
  • You've developed boolean searching skills.
  • You take a partnership approach to working with engaged hiring managers.
  • You have experience developing and utilizing your network to engage and attract passive candidates.
  • You have experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Lever preferred.
  • You are experienced in effectively managing a high volume of candidates.
  • You have a desire to deliver excellence while providing an exceptional candidate experience.
  • You enjoy writing engaging and personalized messages and have a proven record of high response rates.
  • You are hyper-organized with your pipeline and don't let candidates fall into the black hole.
