Temporary Remote Rn information

What is a temporary remote RN?

Temporary Remote RNs are registered nurses who work remotely on a temporary or contract basis, often for healthcare organizations, telehealth providers, or staffing agencies. Their responsibilities include providing patient care, conducting virtual assessments, offering health education, and coordinating care—primarily through phone or digital platforms. These roles are ideal for nurses seeking flexible schedules or short-term assignments, and they typically require an active RN license and experience in clinical practice. Temporary Remote RNs play a crucial role in expanding access to care, especially for patients in rural or underserved areas.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a temporary remote RN, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Temporary Remote RN, you need a current RN license, solid clinical assessment abilities, and recent nursing experience. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and secure messaging systems is typically required. Strong communication, self-motivation, and organizational skills help you deliver quality care and collaborate effectively while working remotely. These skills and qualifications are essential for ensuring patient safety, maintaining compliance, and providing effective care in a virtual environment.

What are some common challenges faced by temporary remote RNs, and how can they be managed?

Temporary Remote RNs often encounter challenges such as adapting quickly to new healthcare systems, building rapport with patients virtually, and managing time efficiently without onsite supervision. To address these, it's important to familiarize yourself with the employer's electronic health record (EHR) system early, actively communicate with both patients and team members, and establish a structured daily routine. Proactively seeking support from supervisors and utilizing available training resources can also help streamline the transition and ensure a successful remote assignment.

Job Description:
When you join us, you'll become a part of a nationally recognized health system dedicated to our mission of "helping people live the healthiest lives possible."
About this role:
As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. This Advanced Practice Provider will join our Avenues Urogynecology team on campus of LDS Hospital in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. We maintain strong collegial relationships with general OB/GYNs, urologists, colorectal surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other specialists both on-site and throughout Utah. To meet the growing urogynecology needs, our practice may expand to other clinical sites outside of the valley in the future.
The APP will partner closely with our Urogynecologists, providing both outpatient and hospital-based clinical care. The APP will see patients independently for non-surgical management of pelvic floor disorders, primarily urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, including behavioral, medication and in-office procedural management, and pre- and post-operative care. Common clinic procedures include pessary fittings, urodynamics and general women's healthcare procedures like pap smear screenings and biopsies.
Inpatient clinical care will involve rounding on postoperative patients, working with trainees to provide patient care, and may include assisting with surgical cases. Call will be shared with the urogynecology providers and is limited to home call coverage of urogynecology patients only. No in-house call is required.

We care about your wellbeing which is why we provide our caregivers with a generous benefits package. In addition, we offer paid time off, license reimbursement, malpractice insurance coverage, and an annual CME allowance to support your continuous growth and development. • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Prior APP experience in women's health or urology is highly preferred.
