Where do scaffolders get paid the most?

Scaffolders working in regions with high industrial activity, such as offshore oil platforms or large refinery projects, tend to earn the highest wages due to the demanding environment and specialized skills required. Experience, certifications like OSHA or NCCER, and working in remote or hazardous locations can also increase pay rates for temporary refinery scaffolding workers.

How much money do you make scaffolding?

A temporary refinery scaffolding worker typically earns between $15 and $30 per hour, depending on experience, location, and union status. Overtime and specialized skills can increase earnings, and safety training is often required for higher-paying roles.

How hard is it to get a job at a refinery?

Securing a temporary refinery scaffolding job typically requires relevant safety training, such as OSHA certifications, and experience working at heights and with scaffolding systems. The hiring process can be competitive, often involving background checks and physical fitness assessments, but opportunities are available for those with the necessary skills and certifications.

What is the 4 to 1 rule in scaffolding?

The 4 to 1 rule in scaffolding, relevant to temporary refinery scaffolding work, states that for every four units of height, the base should be one unit deep to ensure stability. This ratio helps prevent tipping or collapse when working at height and is a key safety guideline for scaffold design and erection. Proper understanding of load capacity and securing techniques is essential for safe scaffolding practices in refinery environments.
