Position Title
Field Service Engineer (FSE AOV or FSE MOV)
Reports To
Test Supervisor, Shift Coordinator or Project Manager
Description
Responsible for the performance of AOV or MOV diagnostic testing, data acquisition, AOV or MOV actuator set-up, Instrument Calibrations (i.e., I/P and Positioners), AOV or MOV diagnostic signature analysis. May be required to perform AOV I&C Technician work scope or MOV Test Technician work scope. Capable of performing full range of AOV or MOV tests using site's diagnostic equipment. Does preliminary analysis. Note, this is a seasonal contract position.
Major Responsibilities
Perform all duties safely and work in accordance with customer or CRANE procedures Perform AOV or MOV diagnostic testing, data acquisition, AOV or MOV Actuator set-up and adjustment, instrument calibrations, analyze AOV or MOV Diagnostic Signatures. Possess an in-depth knowledge of air or motor operated valves and the latest industry issues. May be required to complete duties of predecessor titles ( AOV FST, AOV I&C, Valve Technician or MOV FST, MOV Actuator Tech) Complete AOV or MOV Diagnostic testing in radiological and non-radiological environments.
AOV - Required Experience and/or Education
- High School Diploma/GED and 520 hours direct experience as an AOV Diagnostic Test Tech, OR Associates/bachelor's degree in related discipline and 260 hours direct experience as an AOV Diagnostic Test Technician, OR Crane's Accelerated Development Program
- Excellent safety and attendance performance is expected.
- A commitment to safety and strong communications skills are a must
- Previous management training or experience
- Mechanical or electrical knowledge a plus
- Must have a strong commitment to meeting customer requirements and continuous improvement
- Must be able to work in teams while effectively communicating
- Meet current certification and qualification requirements per CRANE Nuclear QAP-2.0

- AOV ASA Exam (TM-36 or 53)
- AOV ASATPE
- AOV Test Technician Certified
MOV - Required Experience and/or Education
- MOV Test Technician Certified
- HS diploma/GED and 520 hours direct experience as an MOV Diagnostic Test Tech, OR Associate Degree in related discipline and 260 hours direct experience as an MOV Diagnostic Test Technician, OR Crane's Accelerated Development Program
- Excellent safety and attendance performance is expected
- A commitment to safety and strong communications skills are a must
- Previous valve experience or training
- Previous management training or experience
- Mechanical or electrical knowledge a plus
- Must have a strong commitment to meeting customer requirements and continuous improvement
- Must be able to work in teams while effectively communicating
- Meet current certification and qualification requirements per CRANE Nuclear QAP-2.0
- MOV ASA Training OR Challenge

Physical Requirements
- Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, up to 72 hours per week
- Ability to travel up to 80%; must be able to travel and support all domestic work orders.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs without assistance
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended period of time ( 4-6 hours at a time)
- Ability to work in clean, safe and orderly manner
- Able to climb, balance and work at heights from platforms, scaffolding, and ladders (fixed or temporary)
- Ability to wear fall-protection
- Able to work in extreme heat (greater than 100 degrees F) and within OSHA guidelines
- Able to work in confined space
- Able to carry, grip, and work with hand tools.
