Job description


Overall project management responsibility for the development of construction and renovation projects
Responsibilities
Coordinate the design and construction of projects with involved users including physicians, administration, department directors, IT staff, Bio med, suppliers and others. This includes interfacing with outside design firms and regulatory agencies throughout the design and administration phases of construction.
Prepare and administer contracts for capital improvements projects including buy out of all equipment for the projects. Review construction contracts with Risk Management and outside legal counsel develop construction contracts.
Assigns work and ensures that proper records are maintained
Liaison between design, regulatory agencies and owner
Monitor quality of construction work and safety issues throughout all stages of schedule to ensure budgets are kept, deadlines are met.
Maintaining proficiency with the latest design changes, having the understanding of the relevant software such as MS Excel and Project, AutoCAD and Revit.
Coordinate the various contractors work with facilities operations and Administration. Coordination with the hospital staff on building design initiates and integration with hospital staff members.
Manage the construction change order/ scope change process
Responsible for formulating and maintaining construction project budgets and monitors cost control throughout project
Prepare construction and move in schedules. Manage construction projects to a timely completion including progress meetings, bid and change orders, pay requests, and temporary ILSM barricades as needed.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree preferred
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 6 years plus Construction Management experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Good communication skills required to facilitate projects, ability to multitask several projects at one time.
Experience in managing a hospital expansion project and/ or major hospital renovation project required.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations associated with construction projects a plus
Ability to utilize computer software programs for scheduling and cost control.
Requires extensive knowledge of hospital clinical and non-clinical operations.
