Job description

Join a team where you are a value-added source of independent analysis and thought leadership for internal clients, including portfolio managers, front office advisors, sales and marketing, and senior management. In this role, you will help expand the team's performance and portfolio analytics capabilities and contribute to building Wealth Management-specific functionality within the Portfolio Analysis Group (PAG).

As a Portfolio & Performance Analyst - Associate within JPMorgan Wealth Management (JPWM), you will support the Portfolio Analysis Group by delivering portfolio and performance analytics and reporting that enable strong investment outcomes and client communication. You will focus on composite performance reporting, rate-of-return calculations, return attribution, risk analytics, competitive analysis, and account-level analysis and construction. You will help external clients understand the drivers of portfolio performance and support internal stakeholders in measuring the effectiveness of products and strategies. You will also support front-office Advisors with ad hoc client inquiries by providing detailed investment performance analysis
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own responsibilities for JPWM Account and Composite Workflow, creating best practices, optimizing processes, examining current constructions with rigor, etc.
  • Liaise with key business partners to ensure appropriate account/strategy performance and technology development; Collaborate with Tech & India PAG team in the production of accurate and timely performance measurement figures for the JPMWM line of business
  • Create opportunities for new high value-added outputs in the portfolio analytics, risk statistics and strategy vs benchmark analytics arenas
  • Respond in a timely fashion to inquiries from front-office financial advisors regarding performance reports, customized calculations and portfolio analytics; Serve as a subject matter expert (Business-As-Usual)
  • Validate and own the end-to-end composite performance process; support ad hoc inquiries for new composite creation
  • Acclimate and participate in PAG's new group-wide strategic performance technology projects; contribute to outline business requirements, running User-Acceptance-Test and Production Role out of new offerings
  • Assist in writing of business requirements, testing and preparing documentation for the various strategic projects that PAG undertakes
  • Contribute on short-term, medium-term and longer-term strategic projects that focus on improving the PAG's service offering and data quality. Included, but not limited to, design, development, and testing of the Connect Wealth platform offering

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experienced performance measurement professional with 2+ years of relevant experience including project and performance experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Computer Science (or similar discipline) from an accredited, high-quality institution
  • Solid analytical ability to research and analyze complex data sets
  • Strong quantitative skills, comfortable with formulas, performance measurement methodology and risk measures
  • Interact and communicate effectively - written and verbal - throughout all organizational levels and roles while working tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and composite practices
  • Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement / Chartered Financial Analyst (CIPM/CFA) or progress toward designation
  • Some working knowledge of securities operations, trade processing, mainframe accounting systems and performance system architecture
  • Understanding of the various businesses/products within the wealth management space
  • Passion for the investments business and financial markets
  • Self-starter who is analytical and creative in their thinking; ability to quickly analyze information and creatively reach solutions and execute their implementation
  • Ability to communicate complex financial and mathematical concepts effectively to senior management, technology partners, risk & controls, and other stakeholders
