Job Overview
AMMON Staffing is hiring experienced Forklift Operators for a large, fast-paced logistics warehouse facility supporting petrochemical plant operations in the Plaquemine area.
This role is fully warehouse and logistics focused. Employees will be responsible for moving packaged materials, staging orders, and safely loading and unloading 18-wheeler trailers from the dock. This is a great opportunity for candidates with recent warehouse forklift experience who are comfortable working 12-hour shifts and want steady hours with overtime opportunities.
Candidates must be able to reliably travel to Plaquemine, Louisiana for this role. Applicants commuting from Baton Rouge must have dependable transportation capable of crossing the Mississippi River Bridge daily.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate sit-down forklifts and other warehouse equipment
  • Complete and document daily forklift inspections before use
  • Move pallets, totes, and packaged product throughout the warehouse and dock area
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
  • Follow all facility safety rules, PPE requirements, and supervisor instructions
  • Ensure packaging supplies are available at the line as needed
  • Transport finished packaged material from production lines to designated warehouse locations
  • Verify labels, package markings, pallet tags, quantities, and storage locations
  • Inspect pallets for damage and ensure product is stacked safely and securely
  • Receive and review pick tickets from shipping or traffic personnel
  • Pull product from proper storage locations and verify product, lot numbers, quantities, and paperwork
  • Safely load and unload 18-wheeler trailers and containers from the dock
  • Inspect trailers prior to loading for cleanliness, safety, and suitability
  • Follow special loading instructions including weight distribution, sequence, and segregation
  • Assist with repacking, relabeling, reclassification, inventory organization, and other warehouse duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment
  • Proven experience loading and unloading 18-wheeler trailers at a dock
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including overtime and some weekends as needed
  • Must be able to train on the 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to read, speak, and write basic English
  • Comfortable working around large industrial machinery and truck traffic
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and OSHA compliance
  • Good attention to detail with labels, paperwork, and order accuracy
  • Reliable transportation for daily travel to Plaquemine, LA
  • Baton Rouge-area candidates must be able to cross the Mississippi River Bridge daily for this position
