Flex Security Agent - Utah
Locations: Surrounding areas of Draper and Provo, Utah
Employment Status: On-Call, Part-Time/Flex
Base Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Variable; open availability preferred

We are currently seeking experienced Flex Security Agents who demonstrate integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and a passion for protecting others.
Flex Security Agents provide observation, physical security, access control, patrol, incident response, and protective overwatch across multiple Surefox programs. Assignments may include scheduled coverage, short-notice staffing, special projects, and local events. Agents must be comfortable working at different locations and under the direction of Surefox program leadership and designated client management.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Utah Unarmed Private Security Officer license required before hire
Current CPR/AED certification required before hire
Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
Successful completion of the Surefox Physical Agility Test (SPAT), with or without reasonable accommodation
Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Draper, Provo, and surrounding areas
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional appearance, integrity, and sound judgment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to support multiple programs, schedules, and special events
Minimum availability of four shifts or 32 hours per month, including some weekend, overnight, or short-notice assignments
Surefox will provide required site-specific and program-specific training before independent assignment.

What You Will Do

  • Provide flexible staffing support across multiple Surefox programs during vacations, call-offs, no-shows, suspensions, holidays, vacancies, special events, and other high-need periods.

  • Support multiple security functions, including Incident Commander, Resilience Officer, and other assigned positions.

  • Work at various client locations throughout Draper, Provo, and surrounding areas.

  • Provide temporary post coverage until permanent personnel are hired or return to duty.

  • Work day, swing, and grave shifts, including weekends and holidays, sometimes with limited notice.

  • Learn and follow the post orders, standard operating procedures, emergency action plans, and client requirements for each assigned program.

  • Conduct interior and exterior security patrols while monitoring for safety concerns, suspicious behavior, unauthorized access, and unusual activity.

  • Monitor entrances and exits, verify authorization, and assist with access control.

  • Respond promptly and safely to emergencies, incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance.

  • Contact law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services when necessary.

  • Protect client personnel, visitors, facilities, and property from security and safety risks.

  • Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.

  • Use radios, mobile phones, reporting platforms, and other basic security technology.

  • Coordinate professionally with clients, Surefox leadership, operations centers, emergency responders, and partnering security vendors.

  • Track and report program compliance, performance, and quality-assurance requirements.

  • Provide professional assistance to employees and create a safe, welcoming environment for clients and visitors.

  • Attend operational or project meetings when requested.

  • Work independently, adapt to different environments and operating tempos, and consistently maintain attentiveness, sound judgment, and professionalism.


What Is Required

  • Valid Utah Unarmed Private Security Officer license at the time of hire.

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification at the time of hire.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to travel between Draper, Provo, and other assignments within the surrounding area.

  • Ability to pass all required background screening and drug testing.

  • Ability to complete the Surefox Physical Agility Test (SPAT), with or without reasonable accommodation, before the scheduled start date.

  • Availability to work day, swing, and grave shifts, including weekends, holidays, and occasional short-notice assignments.

  • Commitment to work at least four shifts or 32 hours each month.

  • Ability to learn different programs and work with limited supervision after completing required training.

What Is Preferred

  • Previous experience in security, public safety, emergency response, military service, law enforcement, fire service, or EMS.

  • Experience with access control, patrol operations, incident response, or security operations centers.

  • Strong incident and daily activity report-writing experience.

  • Experience supporting corporate offices, lab spaces, or special events.

  • Open availability and the ability to accept short-notice assignments.
