Job description

Position Title: Painter
Pay Range: $24.00 to $32.00 per hour (wage based on experience and qualifications)
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Position Purpose:
Performs a variety of skilled painting activities, and may perform other maintenance-related duties as needed. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 122 days that will be scheduled full-time hours.
Essential Functions:
  • Scrapes, sands, and fills surfaces in preparation for painting and finishing.
  • Applies base coats and finish coats with brush or sprayers.
  • Matches paints and finishes, cleans, and maintains brushes and other equipment.
  • Prepares simple designs, and orders and stores painting materials.
  • Maintains simple records and prepares reports.
  • Consults with other skilled trades’ people as needed.
  • Instructs and leads unskilled assistants.
  • Presents estimated time and materials required for each project to supervisor for approval.
  • May assist in unskilled general maintenance and repair activities, including plumbing, electrical and landscaping duties as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 3+ years of experience as a painter.
  • Must be familiar with common safety rules and practices.
  • Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
  • Must be available to work 5 days per week, on any shift (days, swing, graveyard) between mid-July and mid-August.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, using proper bending and lifting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Will work in a fast-paced, indoor and outdoor environment in all types of weather.   • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud, however louder noise levels may be experienced during outdoor events and when in larger event buildings.
