Job description

The Area Coordinator 1 (AC1) is a hands-on team leader responsible for executing floor-level tasks, directing the flow of work, and supporting seasonal and temporary employees through training, coaching, and task coordination.

The AC1 must understand the workflow, including material movement, inventory handling, and order processing. This role is critical to maintain productivity, accuracy, and safety standards while identifying real-time workflow improvements to optimize efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on tasks in the assigned area of production including order picking, packing, inventory management, and product handling.
  • Provide leadership and direction to seasonal and temporary employees, acting as the primary point of contact on the floor especially during peak season.
  • Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF scanning tools to manage inventory flow and resolve discrepancies.
  • Identify workflow issues or process inefficiencies and propose alternate methods to improve speed and accuracy.
  • Communicate area needs and progress to warehouse supervisors and other team leads.
  • Ensure work area cleanliness and organization meets company safety and sanitation standards.
  • Support special projects, cross-training initiatives, and other operational priorities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1-2 years of warehouse or distribution experience required; experience in a leadership or team lead role preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills; proficiency with WMS, RF scanners, and basic computer use.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak seasons.

Physical Requirements (Essential Functions)

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion
