Packer

Summary The Packer supports the machine/operator by ensuring materials, tools, and workflow are properly prepared and maintained throughout the shift. This role is critical to keeping production running efficiently by minimizing downtime, maintaining organization, and assisting with safe, high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas (6S standards)
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Participate in safety meetings and incident investigations
  • Support a goal of zero incidents
  • Keep walkways, workstations, and staging areas clear of hazards
  • Always operate equipment in a safe manner
  • Production Support
  • Assist the machine operator with daily production activities
  • Stage raw materials and components at the line prior to production
  • Remove finished goods and transfer to designated areas
  • Support changeovers by preparing materials, tools, and setup needs
  • Keep the line supplied to prevent downtime
  • Material Handling & Flow
  • Move materials to and from production lines using pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified)
  • Ensure correct materials are staged per job/work order
  • Remove scrap and excess materials from the line
  • Maintain clear, organized staging areas

  • Assist operator with visual inspections of finished products
  • Identify and report defects or inconsistencies

  • Work closely with the operator and production lead to maintain workflow

  • Assist other lines or departments as needed
