    • Sat – Sun: 6a – 10a rounding, then 24-hour call

    • Surgeon assists with weekend rounding;
    • Night PA available some nights (Tue-Fri 8p-6a);
    • Rounding nurse on weekends (5a-5p) fields first-line calls

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: Board Certified
  • Licenses: Licensed in IN or Universal License (IMLC)
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS
  • Experience: Cardiothoracic surgery experience required; EVH proficiency (500 cases/10 years) for PAs
  • Other Qualifications: Must bring personal laptop for call coverage; Ability to train new APPs on EVH preferred
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Daily rounding on all inpatients (ICU and stepdown) and new consults, including discharging patients
  • First assist in operating room (OR) as needed, learning surgeon routines
  • Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) using Hemapro 2; assist with open vein harvest or endoscopic vein harvesting for fem-pop surgeries
  • Provide on-call coverage for patient management, ER consultations, and transfers from other hospitals
  • Train new APPs on EVH techniques as required
