Job description

About This Role:

The Security Supervisor is responsible for executive security operations at all US sites and leads a team of Security Guards focused on maintaining the safety and security of our employees, properties and assets by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures.

*The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 1:30PM-10:00PM. 

*This is a temporary position expected to last for 6 months, but may be extended or shortened based on business needs. 

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:

  • Leads, mentors and develops Security Guards on a 24/7/365 department schedule. Supervises the Security staff. Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and other personnel-related activities.
  • Creates, implements and maintains clear Security SOPs and impactful metrics.
  • Leads efforts to support Manufacturing and Distribution operations
  • Ensures life safety systems and security technology are in proper working condition across all US facilities and throughout new construction projects; act as a liaison with vendors and contractors to support this mission.
  • Acts as a liaison for local law enforcement, emergency response departments, and Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism.
  • Ensures Security Team operates within a target budget and consistently seeks efficiency gains and cost reductions.
  • Safeguards assets by ensuring that US sites and construction projects are regularly monitored via CCTV intelligence mapping, access control, burglar alarms, visitor software and fire alarm systems.
  • Supports and collaborates with EHS, Office Services and Wellness in terms of tasks and coverage.
  • Prepares for and executes the Security Department’s roles regarding compliance with C-TPAT and Federal/California OSHA standards (e.g. Workplace Violence Prevention, Fire Protection, Hazard Communication, Medical and First Aid, Exit Routes and Emergency Planning, Walking and Working Surfaces).
  • Develops and promotes a culture of teamwork that embraces integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement to protect the people and property of Hunter Industries.

Education/Training Required and Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • CPR/1st Aid/AED.
  • Bureau of Security & Investigation Services Trainer annual certification.

Experience Required and Preferred:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the Security field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising employees.
  • Experience working with CCTV, exacqVision, VelocityEHS, AMAG Technology Symmetry Access Control, and Who’s On Location preferred.

What You Bring:

  • Ability to speak fluent Spanish is required
  • Ability to work overtime and on all shifts when needed
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and develop a team.
  • Proficient computer skills including familiarity with spread sheets, databases, and word processing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with members at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License and maintain a good driving record.
  • Ability to travel within the US and Mexico as needed.
  • Ability to read and modify drawings for access control, life and safety systems preferred.
  • Must have superior public relations skills with focus on customer service.
  • Proficient in developing and overseeing multiple projects with a focus on accuracy, effectiveness, and fiscal responsibility

The hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $29.75 to $31.00 plus a 5% differential. 

The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected hourly range for this job requisition. Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.
